Our Caregivers Make a Difference…
It’s All Good
A 34-year-old single mother with MS wanted to spend as much time as she could with her daughter. The caregiver planned trips to the park, letting the mother drive them all in a golf cart, and danced with mother and daughter in the living room. Anything that allowed the mother and daughter to make special memories was fair game.
Depression Antidote
When a 93-year-old retired MD with failing eyesight became quite depressed, his daughter, also a doctor, brought in an Abell Companion caregiver in the hopes that he could elevate the doctor’s spirits. The physician had been an avid reader, as was his male caregiver. So together they would select a topic and the caregiver would read to him. He also loved music, so the caregiver began to bring over his guitar. When they weren’t deep in conversation, the caregiver would sing the songs the doctor had taught him. Problem solved.
“After dealing with another agency we were thrilled when we found Abell Companions.. We were desperate for someone quick and they had us a great person the next morning. They selected the right people for my father in law’s personality and needs.”
